An Eye

A quick shot of Lucky yesterday. She always looks away when someone is pointing a
camera at her, so I had to coax her by pretending I was holding a dog treat in my left hand.

Mini-Me

Lucky checking out her mini doppelganger on Christmas morning.

Snowy Pines

I FINALLY got out to the escarpment yesterday, for the first time since...October, I think. I took my new
d40x for a spin, and the results are fantastic! What a great little camera!

Getting Ready For The Concert

Another shot made by my fiance Marina. Those are my student's feet under the curtain as we were waiting to sing our songs for the Winter Concert.

Have a great Christmas everyone!

My Street In A Storm

Another shot made during that awesome snow storm last week! Man, I hope we get another one soon!

17 December, 2007

Between the Cars

The first big snow storm of the year! My back is killing me, but I love it!

Bird: A Portrait

I was at the pet store the other day, and saw this guy sitting all by himself.

12 December, 2007

T.D. Lamp

Another shot from downtown Toronto, this one was made on Church near Front Street.

10 December, 2007

The Flat Iron Building

Not a particularly "original" shot (it's been made MANY times
before), but I was there on Front Street and I figured...what the heck.

Looking Out, Looking In

Marina and I went to downtown Toronto yesterday to visit my Dad, who is in town for a few days. I brought along my G7 to try out some "Street Photography" (which, admittedly, I'm not very good at). This is one of "The Bay" windows, decorated for Christmas.

Boarded Up

I made this photo this past summer. The house is on Mississauga Road, right
beside the Streetsville Glen golf course.

Getting The Christmas Tree

My fiance Marina made this photo of my brother & I (with my mom following) carrying our freshly cut Christmas tree to the car yesturday.

24 November, 2007

Snow Fence

Shot last year during a walk through a snow storm. Good times.

22 November, 2007

Storm

I made this image about 3 1/2 years ago on the way to Elora, Ontario with Damien. It was a crazy snow storm. That little white patch in the sky is actually the sun peeking through.

21 November, 2007

Snow Trees

In anticipation of the snow storm that's supposed to hit us tomorrow, here's a photo I made about 3 years ago in Belfountain, Ontario.

18 November, 2007

Christmas Lights

My brother Damien and I spent the day putting up the Christmas lights. Yes, they go up in November! I try to beat the REALLY cold temperatures.

17 November, 2007

Donald & Tweety

Marina, my Mom and I went to the "Seasons" Christmas craft show last night at the
International Centre in Mississauga. These two were mini, hand made figures...perfect
for a macro shot.

Me in a Christmas Ball

While Christmas shopping along Yonge Street last year, I came across a store that
actually had Charlie Brown's ghetto little tree, complete with a single red ball ornament.
I had to get it. The tree has been up all year, and this past weekend I decorated it
with it's one red ball. This is it.

Fire Engine Panel

The local fire department visited our class today to show off their fire engine. The
kids were quite impressed. That ladder goes pretty freakin' high!

Pesto Sticking His Tongue Out

My brother's rabbit, Pesto. That's two rabbits now that have stuck their tongue out
at me for a picture. I must just bring it out of them.

05 November, 2007

A Fish in Black & White

Despite being sick, I went with Marina to Vaughn Mills this weekend (for those of you living outside of Ontario, Vaughn Mills is a freakin' great mall!). We swung by "Bass Pro Shop", where they have a GIANT tank filled with trout, sturgeon, bass, etc. That's where this guy was hanging out.

04 November, 2007

A Golden Ladybug

While waiting for my students to be picked up after school, I took a picture of this ladybug on the wall. They were flying all over the place!

03 November, 2007

The Train Station

I went to the Hobby Show last night at the International Centre in Mississauga, and caught this mini freight train as it passed the station. The hobby show always gives me Christmas vibes!

A Christmas Village

Well, Halloween is over and the Christmas stuff is already coming out! I made this
image at Springridge Farm in Milton, Ontario, in their "Christmas Loft".

30 October, 2007

Our Pumpkins...

I made the Charlie Brown on the left, and Marina made
the spider in it's web on the right. Good times!

29 October, 2007

Rattlesnake Point, Redux...

Marina and I went to Springridge Farm in Milton, Ontario yesturday to get our pumpkins.
I took the G7 along, and on the way back we stopped at the spot where I made the
photograph "Rattlesnake Point". I wanted to see the quality of a G7 landscape image,
and although it's no where near the quality of my Nikon D70s, it's still great for a
compact camera. I'm very impressed!

28 October, 2007

Parking Lot Sunset...

I picked up a Canon G7 today, and this is one of the first shots I made with it.
Nothing fancy...I was testing it for image quality. So far, I'm impressed! I'm
amazed at how much photographic control this little point and shoot allows. Great
camera! I'm looking forward to pushing this camera to it's limits!

21 October, 2007

"Mr. Bunnerton..."

"...Mr. Bunny Bunnerton, you have a call on line one". This is my brother's rabbit, "Pesto" on Thanksgiving.

20 October, 2007

Tree Frame...

I made this a few weeks ago on Maclaren Road near the Forks of the Credit. One of my favourite spots.

Sorry for the lack of posts this past week. Work has kept me extra busy and tired
to the point that I have barely logged on to check my email let alone work on
photographs. I will try and be more diligent in the coming weeks! =0)

11 October, 2007

Spider Web

While photographing some leaves, Marina pointed out a giant spider above my head. Pretty cool, eh?

09 October, 2007

Maple Tree...

This was my first outing with my new Nikon 18-135 lens. I decided against the 18-200
for a few reasons: The price, the fact that I shoot mainly at the wide end so the VR
isn't really needed, and in most cases those who tried both lenses on the net said
that the 18-135 had sharper overall images. I can attest to that last comment. I
can't believe how great this lens is, and at such a great price! If anyone is looking
for a great Nikon zoom lens, I recommend this one highly!

08 October, 2007

Canadian Leaf Flag...

On our way back from Parry Sound, Marina and I stopped by the Niagara Escarpment
to make some photographs in the fog. She pointed out this great red maple leaf
covered in dew, and it reminded me of our flag.

04 October, 2007

A Rolling...Horse?

Again, this was made in the Grange Equestrian Village.

This will probably be my last post until next Monday or Tuesday because I'm heading
up to Parry Sound for the long weekend to shoot a friend's wedding. Have a great
Thanksgiving, and an awesome Columbus Day for my American visitors!

02 October, 2007

A Lake in Erin...

Marina and I went out to the Forks of the Credit last weekend, and dropped by Erin to stroll a bit. Despite having been to Erin many, MANY times I never knew there was a lake there! Go figure!

19 September, 2007

A Gang of Sheep...

This was made this past weekend at the Acton Fall Fair in Acton, ON.

16 September, 2007

Baby Bunny & Tongue...

I made this photo yesturday at Springridge Farm in Milton, ON.
What are the chances of getting a tongue shot!?!haha

Sunset Over a Field...

I made this photograph last night up in Caledon, ON. I just happened to see
the scene through the trees that lined the road, so I pulled over, grabbed the camera,
and had to start swatting my way through all the branches. Then I had to run across
the field to get to the edge of the shadows because they extended quite a distance
behind the scene. Good times.
