Reflections: Forest, No. 2

Schools out fo summa! Yee haw! Well, I need to go into work tomorrow for some PD stuff, but my classroom is completely empty. I hope to spend many-a-days out in the country with me ol' Nikon, like I did last Sunday when I made this image in a pond.

Storm Approaching A Farm

Since my grandfather was admitted to the hospital last week, I've spent most of my down time helping him and my mom out. However, yesterday I took a day and made my way up north with my camera. The next few posts are what I came back with.

Photo Essay: Trees

Now that I have an iPad, and iBooks has been added to the iPhone, I decided that this, my latest photo essay, should take advantage of the new technology. So I present to you, "Trees", a photo essay that can be downloaded both as a .pdf, or in iBooks .epub format. To add it to your iPhone/iPad, download the .epub version, open iTunes, and add it to the "Books" section of your iTunes library. Enjoy!

A fly, hanging out in the sun's leaf filtered light.

A Wall Of Flowers

One more shot of my Mummy's flowers!

Water On Flowers

Another flower image from my Mom's "oasis" (a.k.a. the backyard). She really has turned it into a great place to relax and enjoy nature.

A Mushroom In Shadow

This one is growing on a stump. I love the way the light has been isolated by leaves up above.

Water On A Petal

I spent yesterday at my Mom's place, mainly hanging out in her backyard. Penelope stopped by, but she's become very scared of people for some reason. She won't let me photograph her anymore. She won't even come close when we toss her a peanut. Strange. So, I turned to some other areas of interest in the yard.

Curious

A nice image I found of the late Lucky Stepien.

Official National Geographic Penelope Wallpaper!

So apparently National Geographic turned Penelope into wallpaper. You can download it from here, or check it out on their site (look under April, 2010)...

I tell ya, this little chipmunk has done so much! And all she did was shove a peanut in her mouth!

Coffee On The 6th Floor

This is what I'll be drinking in a couple of hours when Marina wakes up (it's kind of like alcohol...I don't want to be drinking coffee alone!).

Pipes

I saw this interesting set up while walking through an alley in Streetsville last week.

Penelope Cover Shot! With George Clooney! 150,000 Circulation! Wow!

I found out through an email with fellow nature lover Christina Focke (who happens to live in Germany), that Penelope was featured on the cover of this month's issue of Stern VIEW! From what I gather, it's Germany's "People" magazine. I was wondering why my website views spiked, with most of the visitors coming from Germany! With a circulation of 150,000, it overloaded my website for a while. This little chipmunk is now more famous then I'll ever be!

Lola, The Farm Dog

I need to go see Lola again! In a few weeks I'll head down.

My Cake

Well, another birthday has come and gone. What a great one, though! Thank you to everyone who helped make this one for the history books (well, my history book).

Macro Flower, No. 3

With summer fast approaching (and my birthday being tomorrow!), I thought I'd post a nice, bright summery flower.

A Beh-beh!

I love babies. Not to crazy about baby humans, mind you. Babies that have fur...puppies, kittens, farm animals, etc. Speaking of babies, my Mom called today and said the now world famous Penelope has just had a bunch of baby chipmunks, and they're all running around the backyard! Expect to see some photos in the near future!

Water On A Coffee Table

Yep. It's water. On a coffee table. But what is that black line through the puddle? hhhmmm?

Attack Of The 20-Foot Purple Gorilla

This ominous beast was looming over the Bread and Honey festival last week in Streetsville, Ontario.

He is a creepy bugger, isn't he?

Thinking

A few of us went down to the annual "Bread & Honey" festival in Streetsville, Ontario yesterday. They've been holding this festival every year, for...well, I think Jesus was entering his teenage years when the first festival was held.

This here is a kid, deep in thought, hanging out in the petting zoo.

Lola's Smile

I had I dream I visited Lola again the other night.

Berries Buried In Ice

Ya, I know it's almost summer! But it's just been so freakin' hot! Don't think so? Try teaching 40 kindergarten kids in a room surrounded by pavement and no air conditioner! It's like teaching on the surface of the sun!

Third Line Lake

My brother and I went on one of your usual photographic journeys back in July, 2006, when we stumbled upon this lake. It was blazing hot that day!

White Pines & Clouds

On a summer walk through Meadowvale Village, I nabbed this image. It was the perfect contrast!
