Elora Shop

I made this photograph back in October of 2005. If you've never been, Elora is a nice little town in Ontario full of craft shops and a giant gorge. Every town should have a giant gorge, in my opinion.

Wah, Waaah!

The title is supposed to be their teacher talking to them. I sometimes feel like that's what my students hear when I'm speaking.

All By Myself, In The Snow

Both the tree and I...so I guess we weren't alone, were we?

What?

Good ol' Lucky, waiting for food from my grandfather. She was standing right in the light behind her before I made this image, so I ran to get the camera and when I bent down she moved toward me and out of the light. I would have tried to push her back, but she's nuts & probably would have chomped at me.

Outside My Office Window

Inspired by an Allen Ginsberg photograph (yes, the poet...he has a great book of photographs called..."Photographs"). These are the trees I look out upon as I work on report cards...*sigh*

Tree Trunk & Mushrooms

I made this image a few years ago. I always love going out and photographing trees. Maybe it's because they're so large, or maybe it's because they stand still enough to photograph without having to worry about a fleeting moment. I don't know.

Tiger

The final of my "zoo" photographs from May 2008. This guy was so cool!

Where Were You?

It certainly was one of those "where were you when..." moments yesterday when Barack Obama was finally sworn in. I was letting my afternoon kindergarten class into our room with the live coverage shown on our screen by the LCD projector. Amazing day.

Kangaroo

It's so amazing. For those of you who have never been to the Toronto Zoo, the Kangaroo enclosure is actually open for people to walk in and say "hi" up close and personal. This guy was staring at a little boy (hoping to get some food, I guess).

Rhino

Back in May I went to the zoo and made a bunch of photographs. I was posting them daily for about a week, then forgot to post the rest. I'll continue now with the rhino. No one expected him to walk around his enclosure, but I stood there waiting. It paid off. He went for a walk, came right by me, and I was the only one there. People began to notice once his back was turned and he was walking away. Patience pays off.

That Weed Stuff

I'm not quite sure what it's called (hence the title), but I know when you pull it up there's a wild carrot underneath! I made this image back in July 2007 out in my ol' Caledon stompin' grounds.

Mini Fence In Belfountain

I remember making this photograph back in September 2005. I was still using my 35mm Voigtlander Bessa R rangefinder. It was a really hot day. I remember getting back the film, working on it in photoshop, and not being satisfied with the results. I just found it again today, and with the "expertise" I now have in PS, I think it came out pretty nice.

I'm Being Watched

The last in my "Serbo-Christmas" trilogy. I don't know who that girl is smack dab in the middle of the shot, but she's creepy! I didn't even know she was looking at me until well after I made the exposure. Kind of cool, though.

The Embers Red Glare

Here's another photo from Serbo-Christmas.

Stunned By The Fire

I'm lucky. See, Christmas is my favourite time of year but I find it just goes by so fast. My wife and I actually set up our tree in mid-November to extend the season, but for us it's still not enough. The great thing about our setup though, is that my wife is Greek Orthodox. That means that her Christmas is two weeks later (meaning TODAY!). So really we're looking at almost 2 full months of Christmas! Yes, I'm lucky.

This was the scene last night (Christmas Eve) at the Greek Orthodox church on Dixie and Dundas in Mississauga. I'm off to finish my report cards & enjoy some more Christmas cheer!

Tea, Anyone?

Marina & I went to Ikea the other day and...well, it's Ikea, so everything is set up in patterns or repeated many times over. I should have used a higher ISO to get it more sharp, but I kind of like the blurry look for this one.

My Flower

My friend Angie gave me this little bulb in a vase with rocks for Christmas. She said just add water and watch. A week later I've got flowers in bloom in January.

Santa Has Left The Building

In a bit of late Christmas cheer, I came across Santa's residence in the Bass Pro Shop at Vaughn Mills yesterday.
